Looking for a little quiet amidst all the chaos?
Ever wanted to develop a Christian meditation practice?
As an outgrowth of our Lenten Prayer Forums, four parishioners asked to launch a Centering Prayer Group. Centering Prayer is a simple practice of Christian silent prayer or meditation in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. The group will meet each Thursday, for four weeks, from May 19th through June 9th, from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the sanctuary. Meetings will begin with silent prayer, move into optional shared faith sharing, and end with reading together from Fr. Thomas Keating, founder of the Centering Prayer movement. We welcome beginners as well as those who already have an established practice to develop an individual practice or to deepen an already established one.
All are welcome! Please let us know you’re coming if you can.
