We are delighted to announce that we will soon have a new music director, Lynne Glickert! She will begin August 1, 2022.
I am delighted to be joining you as Music Director at St. Francis. I’ve been a music teacher, a building principal, a supervisor for UMSL student teachers, an anti-racism facilitator with a local equity organization and have had various church music positions along the way. I was a member for many years at St. Michael and St. George, part of that time being on staff working as director of children, youth and handbell choirs. My most recent church music position was as Director of Choirs at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Lake St. Louis.
I have three sons, two live in St. Louis, the youngest is in Dallas, TX. I have a delightful 2.5 yr. old grand daughter that I take care of two days a week. I have an active dog that needs to get out for walks no matter the weather. I love playing the piano every day and recently started taking hammered dulcimer lessons. I enjoy knitting while listening to books. I’ve been playing piano/organ at two different churches on a rotating basis for the past three years but have really missed being involved with choirs.
I feel called to share my joy of music with a congregation such as yours. The possibilities are exciting in this time of musical renewal, with newfound comfort in creating music together after the upheaval caused by the pandemic. Your church is healthy, vibrant and compassionate. I believe God has called me here for such a time as this.
