Let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
At St. Francis, we have a literal reminder of this verse from the Gospel of Matthew; our tower with its shining light. As the evening sun sets, a bright light emanates from the tower for all of Eureka, and particularly for our neighbors in Rockwood Arbors, to see. But our light went out! It was broken.
Thanks to many parishioners our light is shining again. Junior Warden Bill Thompson coordinated the help of parishioner Jack Lauless to make repairs to the tower. The financial donations of several parishioners allowed us to engage an electrician to replace the socket so our light is shining again!
Our light tower is a great reminder not only of the light that shines out of this church, but from each St. Francis’ parishioner in their homes, work, and lives bringing Christ’s light to the world.
In the hope of the risen Christ,
