The Covid-19 pandemic has been challenging in so many ways. Our lives have been turned upside down trying to stay safe. Worship at St Francis’ has been transformed over and over and I don’t know about you but I’ve been noticing how God has given us each other to regularly and continually make a joyful noise in the midst of it all.
Because of the pandemic, the St Francis’ family is needing hymn leaders for the next fourteen Sundays or so. Here’s where I’d love: for you say ‘YES!’ to making that joyful noise after thinking about the following:
- You can sing with all of your nuclear family!
- If you know someone who plays an instrument, the two of you can participate together.
- I’m at church twice a week and would be happy to practice with you as often as you wish in addition to sending you music and YouTube links AND I’ll find a musical key that fits your voice no matter how high or low!
- Remember what worship was like when we didn’t have hymn leaders?
As you consider saying ‘YES!!’ hold close one of my favorite poems which contains the following verse:
‘I want to sing in the heavenly chorus
with voices that crack and quaver on the high notes
and sing exuberantly off key.
I want to be always and forever with those who make noise, joyfully.’
