Dear Members of St. Francis’ Episcopal Church,
St. Francis Meal Ministry has completed our first year of providing hundreds of meals to those in need in the tri-county area.
We not have volunteer hosts for every month of 2023. All the volunteers hosts who have served in 2022 have signed on to serve in 2023. A couple of new groups have recently volunteered to host the remaining open months in 2023.
Our hosts include: The Hindu Temple Youth Group, The Holiday Inn, The Turkish American Society of Missouri, LaSalle Retreat Center, Wildwood YMCA, Buren Chapel AME CHurch. Michelle’s American Bistro & Catering, Most Sacred Heart Family Volunteer Ministry, Eureka Police and Fire Departments, Super Smokers and Culver’s, VFW Auxiliary #5468 and The Knights of Columbus. Our goal to have an interfaith and interracial ministry has been a success!
Businesses that have donated funding or product are: WalMart, Schnucks, The City of Eureka, Eureka Sign and Display, St. John Florist, Panera Bread and the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri Hunger Task Force.
Most of all I want to thank the members of St. Francis Episcopal Church who have tirelessly volunteered to spend their Sunday afternoons serving a hot meal to our neighbors. St. Francis has truly met the directive Bishop Deon has given us to “know our neighbors.”
I feel blessed to have a great group of people in the St. Francis Meal Ministry Committee who have generously worked to bring God’s mission to a successful year! They are Mary Ann Kinder, Ruby Downs, Sally Hader, Anna Mackey, Ellen Ogier Kreisel and our newest member Jackie Dear. We have the privilege to have Deacon-in-Training David Luckes, to lead us spiritually and and in many other ways through this challenging first year. With God’s help we will continue His work through 2023.
Love, Worship, Serve,
St. Francis Meal Ministry
