All are invited to be part of our Lenten programs.
“Shrove Sunday” Pancake Breakfast
February 15, 11:30am

Shrove Tuesday immediately precedes Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. Because of the distance of many parishioners from our church, we celebrate “Shrove Sunday” instead so more can participate! Shrove comes from shrive, meaning to confess sins as a preparation for Lent. Although the day is sometimes still used for self-examination and introspection, Shrove Tuesday eventually acquired the character of a celebration in many places. Pancakes are traditionally served because eggs, sugar, and fat, commonly forbidden during lenten fast, are used up so they will not go to waste.
Men of the Parish will prepare; all are welcome to join for breakfast at 11:30am. To join in prep work, contact Joe O’Reilly at 314-346-8647.

The Big Way of Love for Kids
Ongoing at Home
The Big Way of Love for Kids comes from the Way of Love, a rule of life with several spiritual practices that help us all to live more like Jesus. Pick up a pack of Way of Love playing cards, and a grown-up guide with helpful tips. Then join Laurie+ and other parents on Sunday, March 1, at 11:30am for coffee and conversation about your family’s experience of using the cards in the opening days of Lent.
Reconciliation of a Penitent

Take part in this sacramental rite in which a person confesses their sins to God in the presence of a priest and receives the grace of absolution. The rite, found in the Book of Common Prayer, is printed for your convenience and consideration in the back of the Sunday bulletin and available online here. By appointment only with Laurie+
